As an elder law attorney with a private practice in Natick, Kathleen Lynch Moncata navigates legal options with aging individuals and their families, making those processes more accessible and understandable. Her pro bono work involves giving voice to concerns of those living in assisted living facilities throughout the Commonwealth. Kathleen was appointed by Governor Healey to serve on the Assisted Living Commission and is continuing as a member of the Massachusetts Attorney General‘s Elder Justice Council. For her efforts advocating for elder issues in state government, Kathleen was awarded the Deborah H. Thomson Advocacy Award by the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

Kathleen graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, with a Bachelor of Arts in English.  Post-college, she served one year with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, living and working as a community organizer in North Philadelphia.  She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law.

She and her husband, Sam Moncata, a clinical psychologist, are long-term residents of Natick, having raised two adult daughters who have fond memories of visiting the Bacon Free Library throughout their childhood.
