Demetri Kyriakis

Demetri retired in 2025 from being a public library administrator with over 30 years of experience in library services, technology initiatives, and community programs. He served as Assistant Library Director at the Wellesley Free Library and previously at the Needham and Northborough Free Libraries, as well as Supervisor of Reference Services at the Morse Institute Library in Natick.



Demetri holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Simmons University in Boston and a Master’s in Instructional Technology from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut. Before that, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Government from Clark University in Worcester.

Demetri has been an active contributor to professional library organizations including the American Library Association, New England Library Association, and International Federation of Library Associations. Dedicated to strengthening libraries and the communities they serve, Demetri has also held leadership roles with nonprofit boards and library committees.



Outside of his professional and academic pursuits, Demetri enjoys reading, hiking, and traveling. He and his wife share their home with Enzo, their three-year-old Australian Labradoodle, who keeps them both active and entertained.
